About our District DPS serves over 78,000 students and is comprised of 152 schools, each as different and unique as the student population it serves: 75% of our students are students of color, and 55% of the school district is Latino; 70% percent of our students qualify for free and reduced lunch; 130 different languages are spoken in students homes. Candidates who are not currently certified in elementary education may also be considered if they hold a Bachelors Degree and have passed the Praxis II Elementary exam (offered nationally) or the Elementary PLACE exam (offered in Colorado).
