Will closely supervise a group of school age children in all scheduled activities in the program; such supervision will consist of visual and auditory awareness as well as pattern of circulating among the children. Will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the site. This is to include the following: Supervision of children, Program set-up & clean up, Ensure that the site meets or exceeds all TDFPS, City of Grand Prairie and YMCA standards, Communicating concerns and problems, while working together on a solution. Will keep an accurate daily count of all children in your group. Will follow the pick up and check out procedure. Will follow the YMCA of Metropolitan Dallas discipline policy set down in orientation and staff trainings. Will report supplies needing repairs or those that need to be orderd to the Site Director. Will be completely responsible for the safety and well being of each child your group. Will report any child accident/incident/illness or suspected child abuse to the Site Director as soon as possible. Will attend all scheduled staff meetings, trainings, and other meetings deemed necessary by the Senior Program Director/Program Director/Program Coordinator. Will be directly responsible to the Site Director regarding all matters concerning your job responsibilities. Will complete all assigned tasks given to you by the Site Director. Will be responsible for following the YMCA Afterschool Curriculum/Lesson Plan. Job Requirements Must be at least 18 years of age (may be 16 or 17 year of age if enrolled in an approved high school career program and under direct supervision of qualified staff). High school graduate. 15 approved and documented training hours to be accumulated during school year. CPR and First Aid Certified. Staff with no experience in licensed child care must also complete 8 hours of pre-service orientation as prescribed by TDFPS. Training hours to be accumulated during school year. Relates well to elementary age boys and girls. Must have current Drivers License. Must have or obtain valid TB test. Must complete Safety Series Training 30 days from hire. Ability to stand for long periods of time. Ability to adjust from sitting to standing with ease. Ability to lift and carry at least 30 lbs.
