Responsible for supervision, safety and activities of children in assigned group while ensuring the safety of all children between the ages of 5-12. Will closely supervise a group of school-age children in all scheduled activities in the program; such supervision will consist of visual and auditory awareness as well as a pattern of circulating among the children. Will follow the pick-up and check out procedure. Will follow the discipline policy set in staff training. Will report supplies needing repair or depletion to the Director. Will be completely responsible for the safety and well-being of each child in your group; must quickly move to attend to injured or ill child (be able to transport if necessary) and initiate first aid procedures. Will keep an accurate daily count of the children in your group each day. Will follow the field trip procedure set at staff training. Will attend all scheduled training sessions, staff meeting, and any other meetings deemed necessary by the Child Care Director for. Will assist in set-ups and clean-ups throughout the summer. Will report any illness or injury of a child or staff to the Child Care Director immediately following incident. Will report suspected child abuse to supervisor. Will implement site-evacuation/emergency procedures for fire, chemical spill, tornado, etc. Will function at a the afterschool site providing leadership to up to 15 children. Job Requirements Must be at least 18 years of age (may be 16 or 17 year of age if enrolled in an approved high school career program and under direct supervision of qualified staff). High school graduate. 15 approved and documented training hours to be accumulated during school year. CPR and First Aid Certified. Staff with no experience in licensed child care must also complete 8 hours of pre-service orientation as prescribed by TDFPS. Training hours to be accumulated during school year. Relates well to elementary age boys and girls. Must have current Drivers License. Must have or obtain valid TB test. Must complete Safety Series Training 30 days from hire. The course is to familiarize our 12th graders with the concepts and theories of economics, as well as the practical aspects of day-to-day economics. Students will learn what constitutes macro- and micro-economics, and the types of systems that exist along with the advantages and disadvantages of each. They will understand generally the different economic systems - command, traditional, and market. Lessons will cover the concepts of scarcity, opportunity costs, choice, supply and demand, pricing system, and the idea of equilibrium. Practically, the students will learn what a credit report is, how to research a major purchase, how to write a check, and to keep a balanced check register. They will review various economically-related forms for employment, income taxes, and creating a personal budget. The course ends with a look at different economic philosophies and where the environment fits into the economic life. Highland Hall Waldorf School is a private Waldorf school in Northridge, located about 8 minutes from the CSUN campus. Our 11-acre tree-studded campus is home to 380 students in grades Nursery -12th and parent/child play groups, and a supportive collegial faculty.
